A Liberal councillor who made LGBT+ history
Sam Green was the first openly gay politician ever elected in the UK – and possibly the world.
Tobie joined the Liberal Democrats in 2013, believing that the Coalition years had shown what a strong Liberal voice could achieve in government.
He campaigned strongly against Brexit, and stood as a parliamentary candidate in the 2017 General Election against an unknown Conservative backbencher named Rishi Sunak!
Although unsuccessful, Tobie believes it is vital that we keep campaigning for the progressive Liberal values that have done so much to lift so many out of poverty and ignorance over the years, and which should continue to be the bedrock of our communities and our way of life.
Outside of politics Tobie is a software engineer and has started his own business, a computer vision and Artificial Intelligence consultancy, here in Yorkshire.
