Fix the Disruption: Demand Better Coordination of Utility Roadworks in Our Area

For months, residents across Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon have faced severe delays caused by repeated roadworks from Yorkshire Water and Northern Gas Networks. Key routes like Harrogate Road and Green Lane have been dug up again and again, often with little notice and no clear coordination between the companies involved.

The result has been gridlock, longer journeys, missed appointments, a loss of trade for local businesses, school‑run chaos and increased costs for thousands of people. Many of us now avoid these roads entirely because the disruption has become so routine.

Residents deserve a properly planned, transparent approach to essential works — not months of avoidable congestion and repeated excavation of the same stretches of road. This petition asks whether you support calling for an urgent review and a coordinated plan to prevent further disruption.

A residential street with temporary roadworks, marked by orange cones and red plastic barriers. Two blue signs with white arrows direct traffic around the obstruction. The road surface is wet with puddles, and houses, parked cars, hedges, and a partly cloudy sky are visible in the background.
