Meet Sharon Slinger

Sharon is our local campaigner for the Moortown Ward which also includes parts of Meanwood.

Sharon is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has run her own business for over 8 years supporting people in the construction industry.

She currently lives in Meanwood, but has previously lived in Moortown during the time when we had three Lib Dem councillors in the ward. She is keen to get hard-working councillors back into the ward, something it has been missing for sometime.

Sharon lives with her wife and two children, and loves football, both playing (although not very well!) and watching - particularly the Lionesses.

She currently sits on a number of boards and committees including being Non-Executive Director for the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management.

Sharon has campaigned locally for many years and fought for residents viewpoints to be heard on the disastrous Meanwood Junction scheme.

Sharon's priorities for Moortown Ward

Sharon has worked in the local community for many years and is prioritising working on...

  • Helping people
Sharon believes councillors should be hard-working and focused on helping local residents with problems that they cannot resolve themselves.
  • Keep Leeds moving
Whether its unnecessary roadworks or buses that never run on time, it can often feel impossible to get around Leeds. Sharon wants to see positive changes to the way decisions are made, and residents voices heard.
  • Safe streets
Speeding traffic and anti-social behaviour can sometimes make our streets feel unsafe. Sharon will work with local police and council departments to ensure we all feel safe on our streets.
