Council Offices Sell Off Betrayal

Local LibDem councillors are furious that Labour-run Leeds City Council has announced that the historic Rothwell Council Offices will be sold off at auction to the highest bidder.

Cllr Conrad Hart-Brooke is calling on local residents to join the LibDem team in condemning this betrayal:

“From the day the Council closed the building, we have worked alongside local volunteers for seven years to get this building reopened as a community asset. We have a business case and local organisations like the NHS and Rothwell Temperance Band lined up to use the building. It’s now obvious we’ve been strung along all this time until the Council found the best time to sell off our most cherished, distinctive and historic building. We need to send a message that we will not take this lying down. Please sign our petition!”
