Ward councillor shares residents' concerns

12.00.00am GMT Tue 4th Nov 2008

Councillor Linda Rhodes-Clayton (Lib Dem, Hyde Park and Woodhouse) has shared her concerns with local residents regarding a planning application on Cliff Road, Woodhouse, Leeds.

Many residents have contacted Cllr Rhodes-Clayton, voicing their disapproval of submitted plans for three, four bedroom terraced houses, saying they would not be in keeping with the surrounding area.

Cllr Rhodes-Clayton, sharing their concerns, said:

"It is important when people feel strongly about a planning application that they get in touch with the council and put forward their views. Many residents in Woodhouse have contacted me to say they do not think the plans are a good idea.

"I have to say that I agree with them. Whilst it is important that areas are redeveloped, especially in and around Hyde Park and Woodhouse, such development has to be in-keeping with the surrounding environment. I hope the members of the plans panel take notice of these concerns and reject the proposal."
