Public meeting to address inner city bus issues6.23.00pm GMT Mon 22nd Oct 2007
Residents in Hyde Park and Woodhouse will have the opportunity to quiz transport chiefs about bus services in the area at a public meeting this Thursday. Cllr Penny Ewens, (Liberal Democrat, Hyde Park and Woodhouse) has called the meeting for 25th October at 6:30pm in the Woodhouse Street Community Centre. Neil Holt from Metro will be speaking at the meeting alongside Cllr Ewens and will field questions from those attending. Cllr Ewens said: "I have noticed that residents are coming to me with more and more problems relating to the buses. These include routes being cut, confusion over fare structures and increasing pressure on services from the expanding student population. "I have arranged this meeting so that local people can meet face to face with the people who run the buses and we can make some progress on some of these problems. "Anyone local with an interest in these issues is very welcome to turn up as the more people we can get to come, the more productive I hope the meeting will be."
