12.00.00am GMT Thu 11th Jan 2007

Councillor Richard Brett (Lib Dem, Burmantofts & Richmond Hill) has congratulated both Mount St Mary's High School and All Saint's Primary School for achieving the best results of schools in Leeds based on the "value added" tables published by the Department for Education and Skills today (11 January 2007).

Councillor Brett said, "Speaking both as a local Councillor representing Richmond Hill, where both schools are located; and as the Executive Board member for Children's Services I'm delighted with the performance of these two schools.

"While many other schools across Leeds have performed well under the new "value added" tables, these two have topped their respective lists. Staff, Pupils and Governors all deserve congratulations for the results, and for all the hard work I know they have put in."
