Additional trains boost for Horsforth commuters

11.03.01am GMT Wed 13th Dec 2006

Lib Dem Councillor Andy Barker has welcomed news that public transport group Metro have acquired six new trains for rush hour journeys to and from Leeds. The additional trains have been in action this week on the popular Harrogate and York lines. Both services are regularly used by Horsforth residents to get to and from work. The investment provides a much needed slice of festive cheer for commuters, who regularly have to endure overcrowding during peak periods.

Councillor Andrew Barker (Lib Dem, Hosrforth) said "The additional trains to and from Horsforth are a real bonus. Anyone who relies on the train for rush hour journeys knows that this service is extremely popular and often sees people packed in like sardines. These trains will provide extra seating space for commuters which is long overdue."
