Leeds Councillors Elected to Liberal Democrat Regional Executive11.36.09am GMT Wed 10th Nov 2004 Cllr Richard Harker [Moortown & Meanwood] is set to return to the Liberal Democrat Regional Executive as Regional Vice Chair. At the Liberal Democrat A.G,M. Richard was elected as Vice Chair for 2005. Richard stood down from the executive in 2004 but decided to return in order to join the regional team fighting the coming General Election . "The next General Election will be exciting. The Yorkshire & the Humber Region look set to return four MPs. Leeds North West and Haltemprice and Howden look set to elect Liberal Democrats members who will join our existing MP from Harrogate & Knaresborough and Sheffield Hallam" predicted Richard " and I want to play a full part in the campaign." Richard was the Region's Chair of Elections and Campaigns from 1997 until 2004 and looks forward to working with Cllr John Fox [Harrogate] who will take on the role of Elections & Campaigns Chair. Another Leeds councillor, Cllr Penny Ewens [ Hyde Park & Woodhouse] was reflected to the Executive as Chair of the Policy Committee. This a role Penny has held for sometime with distinction.
